Add The New York Post on Google A Long Island father-of-three told cops he was being murdered by his son after calling 911 during the horrific attack, officials said. Edward Brown , 69, was stabbed more than 40 times in the torso, chest and neck by his son Sage Arias-Brown, 33, who barged into his studio apartment in Mastic, Suffolk County, early in the morning of Sept. 7, authorities said. A neighbor heard a loud bang, followed by Brown screaming, according to an indictment obtained by The Post. Brown was able to call 911 during the attack at around 12:30 a.m., according to the police. “I’m being murdered. Brown’s body was found inside the apartment “covered in blood,” according to the document. “This defendant is accused of viciously taking the life of his 69-year-old father as the victim desperately called the police for help,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said in a press release. 3 Brown, 69, is heard telling cops he is being murdered in his 911 call. Ed Brown / Facebook “The facts in this case are heartbreaking. This indictment is an important step towards holding the defendant accountable for the brutal violence he allegedly inflicted on his own parent.” Brown was described as “a seeker, a philosopher, and a lifelong learner, a deeply spiritual man with a gentle and restless soul,” in an obituary. “He had a remarkable ability to see the best in everyone around him, and a gift for helping others recognize the best within themselves,” it went on. 3 Arias-Brown faces one charge of murder. Dennis A. Clark for NY Post Arias-Brown was arraigned on the indictment for one count of murder in the second degree on Sept. 17, and was ordered held without bail. He is due back in court on Oct. 21, and faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted. An attorney for Arias-Brown did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
